Abstract
Purpose: This study aims to explore the social factors contributing to school bullying from the perspective of Jordanian school students in the city of Irbid. Design/Methodology/Approach: A quantitative research approach was employed using a structured questionnaire developed to gather data on demographic variables and bullying-related social factors. The instrument consisted of 38 items. A probability sampling method was used to select a representative sample of 763 students from various schools in Irbid. Findings: The results indicate that school bullying is influenced by a range of social factors as perceived by the students. These include family dynamics, school environment, personal characteristics, and peer relationships. Each of these dimensions plays a significant role in shaping students' experiences and behaviors related to bullying. Conclusion: The study concludes that school bullying is a multifaceted issue rooted in various social contexts. Addressing these underlying factors is essential for the development of effective anti-bullying strategies. Practical Implications: The findings provide valuable insights for educators, school administrators, and policymakers in designing targeted interventions to reduce bullying behavior. By addressing family, school, personal, and peer-related factors, it is possible to foster a safer and more inclusive school environment.
