Abstract
We describe the case of an HIV+ patient who showed an abnormal ALT levels and was found to have high HCV RNA viral load (1140000 UI/ml) whereas HCV antibodies screening was negative. Newsworthy, this patient, with a stable immunological status, also experienced spontaneous loss of HIV antibodies (seroreversion).
Our case report shows a complex interplay of both viral and host factors leading to rare phenomena, like seronegative HCV infection and HIV seroreversion. A particular attention should be given to the HCV monitoring in patients at risk of HIV-related infections.
