Abstract
Cardiogenic shock is the first cause of mortality in patients with acute myocardial infarction and it is a condition characterized by different grade of severity with poor outcome if a prompt diagnosis and early treatments are not performed. We reported the case of 74-year-old patient with acute myocardial infarction-cardiogenic shock treated in three hospitals and supported with different type of pharmacological and mechanical supports. The presence of a structured regional network for cardiogenic shock allowed to integrate and optimize the complex treatment for refractory cardiogenic shock, with a hemodynamic stabilization in the acute phase and contemporary assessing the eligibility for a long term mechanical circulatory support.
