Abstract
Objective: This study attempted to assess the impact of perioperative risk intervention care on the rate of intraoperative and postoperative complications in elderly hip arthroplasty patients, focusing on the indicators of hypothermia, intraoperative position-related complication problems, dislocation of the prosthesis, and the length of hospitalization in the postoperative period. Methods: 60 cases of elderly patients who underwent hip arthroplasty in our hospital between April 2024 and April 2025 were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group. The observation group implemented the intervention nursing care for perioperative risks, which involved preoperative assessment, appropriate management of intraoperative temperature, effective protection of body position, and postoperative nursing care initiatives; the control group implemented the routine perioperative nursing care model, comparing the two groups of patients with respect to whether hypothermia occurred during the operation, whether there were complications related to intraoperative position, and whether there were complications related to prosthesis dislocation. We compared whether the patients in the two groups had hypothermia, complications related to the surgical position, the incidence of prosthesis dislocation and postoperative hospitalization time and other indicators. Results: The incidence of hypothermia in the observation group was 10%, which was significantly lower than that of the control group (36.7%); in the observation group, the incidence of nerve injury was 3.3%, the incidence of pressure injury was 6.7%, and the rate of total complications was 10%, with the rates of nerve injury (16.7%), pressure injury (23.3%), and total complications (40%), respectively; and the probability of postoperative dislocation of prosthesis in the observation group was 3.3%, with the rate of postoperative dislocation (3.3%). The probability of occurrence of postoperative prosthesis dislocation in the observation group was 3.3%, 20% of the postoperative incidence in the control group. The number of postoperative hospitalization days in the observation group was 3.2±1.5 days, which was significantly shorter than that of the control group, which was 7.8±2.1 days, and the total number of complications was 4 cases in the observation group, while the total number of cases in the control group was 12 cases. Conclusion: Perioperative risk intervention nursing can greatly reduce the incidence of intraoperative hypothermia, position-related complications and prosthesis dislocation in elderly hip replacement surgery patients, and at the same time, shorten the length of hospitalization of the patients, reduce the total number of complications, greatly improve the quality of patients' postoperative recovery, and present a key clinical significance.
