1.                   Abstract

Ecotourism, as a tourist industry that sells natural potential. Ecotourism is sometimes regarded as a paradox because, in addition to being a source of income for the welfare of society, it is also considered an environmentally destructive activity. Kepulauan Seribu is a group of islands developed as a national park, consisting of small islands, which have residents or not. Pulau Peramuka is the center of government, education, tourist destinations, and stopover of tourists who want to visit other islands in the Thousand Islands area. The increase of population and the arrival of tourists and climate change can threaten the Thousand Islands ecosystem. The purpose of this research is to know the participation of the community in maintaining the sustainability of Pulau Peramuka. Research, using the qualitative approach with descriptive-analysis method.
